Jewelry
Our jewelry workshop has been recognized for the vision it gives girls to aspire to be entrepreneurial women with values centered on Christ and the good of the community.
The jewelry is made from tagua and acai, later our girls, with their hands, turn into beautiful necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. For this practice, it is necessary to have a lot of concentration and a lot of patience. It also serves as therapy so that our girls can distract themselves and create something from scratch.
The girls from Casa Zoe attend the jewelry workshops 1 time a week for 2 hours, after going through different learning modules, depending on their abilities, they make their own jewelry models guided by our tutor. This jewelry is then put on the market to be able to finance some expenses that are in Casa Zoe.
Sewing
Likewise, the girls attend sewing classes every Monday. With this workshop, we want to instill in them the skills of being able to use their imagination to make garments that match their fashion sense. In this workshop the girls have made articles from PJs to tablecloths. It is a blessing to be able to observe how the girls, little by little, develop and create incredible things, in addition to taking responsibility and fixing their own clothes when they are torn.
These types of skills are valued in the labor markets, and our goal is that when they finish their process, they can have a broad curriculum that helps them get a decent job.
English
English is not just a workshop; it also helps the girls to improve their grades in their schools as a second language. We aim to develop the girls’ language skills because we believe that learning a language opens many doors for their future. Along with this their resumes will be much stronger and also they can communicate with our friends from all over the world!
Dunamis Foundation goes beyond immediate care, extending its impact to the broader community by implementing an English program for underprivileged children.
